1、 Preparation work
Confirm tools and materials: Prepare the necessary tools such as wrenches, filter wrenches, sealing gaskets, new lubricating oil filters, and clean lubricating oil.
Safety measures: Ensure a clean working environment, wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles to prevent lubricating oil from splashing onto the skin and eyes.
2、 Discharge old lubricating oil
Find the oil drain bolt: First, locate the oil drain bolt on the oil pan, usually located at the lowest point of the oil pan.
Discharge old oil: Use a wrench to remove the drain bolt and allow the old lubricating oil to flow out. Be sure to drain the old oil thoroughly until the flowing oil no longer forms a line, but drips down gradually.
3、 Dismantle the old filter
Find the filter location: The lubricating oil filter is usually located near the engine, and the specific location varies depending on the vehicle model.
Dismantling the filter: Use a filter wrench or appropriate tool to rotate counterclockwise and remove the old filter. Be careful not to let the oil in the old filter splash around.
4、 Install a new filter
Apply sealant: Apply a thin layer of lubricating oil on the sealing ring of the new filter (some models may require the use of sealant) to ensure sealing performance.
Install new filter: Align the new filter with the installation position and gently tighten it by hand. Then, use a filter wrench or appropriate tool to rotate clockwise and tighten the filter. Be careful not to tighten too tightly to avoid damaging the sealing ring.
5、 Add new lubricating oil
Check the oil level: Before adding new lubricating oil, check if the oil level is within the normal range. If the oil level is too low, it is necessary to replenish an appropriate amount of lubricating oil first.
Add new oil: Use a funnel or other tool to slowly pour the new lubricating oil into the oil pan. Pay attention to filling according to the recommended specifications and quantities of the vehicle manufacturer.
6、 Inspection and Testing
Check for leaks: After installing a new filter and adding new lubricating oil, start the engine and idle for a few minutes to check for leaks at the drain bolt and filter.
Check oil pressure: Use an oil pressure gauge to check if the engine oil pressure is within the normal range. If any abnormalities are found, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection and troubleshooting.
7、 Precautions
Replacement cycle: The replacement cycle of the lubricating oil filter varies depending on the vehicle model and usage conditions. It is generally recommended to replace it according to the recommended cycle of the vehicle manufacturer.
Use genuine products: Purchase and use genuine lubricants and filters to ensure the normal operation of the engine and extend its service life.
Environmental cleanliness: During the replacement process, the working environment should be kept clean to prevent impurities from entering the lubricating oil system.
